Requirements to rent a car: Driver’s license type A
Note:
The Driver must have and display a valid Drivers’ License issued at least a year ago. Citizens of non-EU countries must have a valid international Drivers’ License along with their regular Drivers’ License (except the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia). The drivers must be at least 21 years old.
Insurance:
Most rental companies provide TPL and TP insurance. These are the driver's own liability insurance and theft insurance, respectively. These amounts are usually included in the price.
Additionally, the renter can request extended insurance. There are several main types of additional insurance:
- Standard insurance with deductible (CDW). If an accident occurs, the renter will not pay more than the deductible amount is. The material losses out of the cost of the deductible are covered by the insurance company.
- Standard insurance with reduced deductible (SCDW-Super CDW). This is a type of CDW with a reduced deductible, but it is more expensive than it is at the original cost.
- Full insurance without deductible (FDW). The most expensive insurance option. The renter does not pay anything if all the conditions of the contract are met.
Additional driver:
Additional driver/drivers are free of charge. For all additional drivers the same policy that applies to the main driver regarding age, driving license, etc.
After-hours pick up and drop off cost.
For pick-ups and drop-offs from 21:00 until 09:00, there is an extra charge of 40€.
Road Accident:
In a road accident, you must inform our company immediately and the police. The police report is mandatory. Without a police report, the renter takes full responsibility. Furthermore, in case of an accident due to the renter’s liability, the renter has an obligation to pay our company a non-refundable fee to cover administration expenses and the cost of repairing the damage to the vehicle.
